(GRSM, ARCM, PGCE) Director of the Tonalis Centre Michael Deason-Barrow with talking drum

has taught at all levels, from Universities to Head of Music in both Comprehensive and Waldorf Schools to Music Therapist in Special Needs Education. He is a master singing teacher and an inspirational choir trainer: an innovator who has spent twenty years giving courses all over the world promoting a new vision of music. He has a wide background as a performer: from art song recitals to singing in early music consorts and folk groups to co-creating music for sacred places and free improvisation voicings. He has studied with great masters like Peter Pears and Jürgen Schriefer, and gained invaluable insights from his extensive research into fields as diverse as Gregorian Chant and World Vocal Techniques. All this - along with his open questioning mind - has enabled him to extend the boundaries of musical understanding and develop unique and uplifting music courses. Increasingly he is being recognised for being that rare exponent in music, an expert with a universal attitude, a specialist equally at home with both professionals and non-specialists alike.
