This group offers:
Evening Concerts Vocal Performances in Sacred Spaces
Music for Festivals and Celebrations (e.g. weddings, etc.).

The Consort specialises in singing a Wide Repertoire of Music, including choral music drawn from:
I.Different Times (from Medieval Musics to Modern Soundscapes)
II.Different Places (from World Musics, such as Georgian, African and Bulgarian choral pieces, to Folk Traditions from Shape Note and West Gallery Singing to English and Celtic Folk Music).

A specific feature of the Consort is that it sings compositions that include improvisation in order to bring the benefits of creative imagination, spontaneity, presentness and co-creativity into vocal performances.

A key feature of our performances is the inclusion of repertoire that calls for:
I.the placement of different voices in different parts of the performance space
II.the singers to move whilst singing (including processionals and the drama of choreographed movements) in order to - work musically with the whole of the acoustic space and - enhance the audience's reception of the music.
Thus the music is heard coming from around, above and behind the audience, as well as from the centre and the periphery. In addition, through using such spatial parameters, the musical structures in each piece - i.e. the composed space of the music - is enhanced through its translation into the spatial placement /movement of the singers.

During our performances the exciting and innovative forms of acoustic instruments Tonalis uses are often played by the singers. These instruments include new forms of gongs, bowed psalteries, string fields and tone harps, etc.

The number of singers in the Consort ranges from 4 to 12 (depending upon economic considerations and the planned repertoire for a particular concert or tour). Most typically the Consort works with 6 - 8 voices as the norm, i.e. S S, A A, T T, B B - including a male alto as one of the altos.
